HERITAGE FESTIVAL

SNCS will be part of this year’s Heritage Festival at the Western Development Museum on February 12, 2023 from 12:00 to 5:00pm.

Traditional Norwegian items will be displayed at our information table, and you will be able to ask our knowledgeable volunteers questions about SNCS, the Norwegian Language School, membership, and Norway in general.

Admission to the museum is free that day.


SNCS AGM 2023

We invite you to attend the SNCS 2023 AGM on January 29th at 2:00pm.

It will be held via Zoom, so if you wish to attend send an email to

saskatoonnorwegian@gmail.ca and a Zoom invite will be sent to you.

Norwegian Christmas Service

The Christmas Service this year will be on December 4th at 2:00 pm at

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1215 McKercher Drive. 

Everyone is invited to bring a treat to share after the service.  

The service is open to all.


HØSTTAKKEFEST (Fall-Thank-You-Party)

The event will be held at Rock of Ages Lutheran Church on Saturday, October 1st, 2022 at 5:30pm.

Save that date and plan to join us for a light supper of prepared cold plate, entertainment and fellowship.

Price is $10 per adult, $5.00 for children 10 years and under, free for 3 years and under.

Sankthans / Midsummer Celebration

17. Mai Celebration

We are excited to invite you to our celebration of Norway’s Birthday. This will be our first get together since the start of Covid.

We will meet at Redeemer Lutheran Church, at 6:30 pm. The address is 812 Preston Avenue, Saskatoon, SK S7H 2V2.

We can promise an evening with Norwegian desserts & hotdogs, Norwegian music, and Norwegian dancing.

Zoom Coffee Club

The Western Development Museum is excited to offer a new virtual program on Scandinavian history in Saskatchewan and the concept of hygge.

Join us for a fika (coffee break in Swedish) and learn about the history of Scandinavian settlers in Saskatchewan by exploring artifacts from the Western Development Museum. We’ll also talk about the term hygge and how Scandinavian lifestyles and traditions have been popular especially during the past decade. There are two different offerings of this session via the Zoom platform: Sunday, March 20 at 2:00 pm and Tuesday, March 29 at 10:00 am. This program is free of charge.

We are pleased to announce there will be Norwegian Classes offered this fall! 

The Beginner class starts on September 13, 2021 at 7:00 pm at Room 2106, and The Intermediate class begins on September 14, 2021 at 6:30 pm at Room 2106. The new location will be Evan Hardy Collegiate, 605 Acadia Drive, Saskatoon, SK S7H 3V8. 

Saskatoon Public School Division requires the following:

  • All students and teachers must be double vaccinated
  • Students wear their own masks or the ones provided
  • Hand sanitizer and cleaning products will be provided 

The Beginner class ends on April 25 and the Intermediate class ends on April 26, 2022.  The registration fee for each term of classes is $120.  A Saskatoon Norwegian Cultural Society membership fee of $25 for a single person and $35 for a family is also required.
